Hello there! My name is Sam Nitcy, and this year at Dayton will be my first teaching job! I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, I just needed to know for sure. After stints in commercial harvesting, commercial fishing, CDL driving, and oil and gas I knew it was finally time. I began working as a SPED paraprofessional and worked as quickly as I could to finish up my degree.
My wife, son, and I moved to Hot Springs in June from Homer, Alaska. Having grown up in Sandpoint, Idaho it is so nice to be back closer to home and family. I am very much looking forward to getting out and exploring all this beautiful area has to offer. In my spare time I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, and looking at my chickens!
I’m very excited to get to know the Dayton school community. In my class we will contribute to our school’s positive learning environment by keeping three rules in mind; be respectful, be responsible, and be safe. If we can keep these principles in mind there should be no limit as to what we can accomplish this year.
Can’t wait to meet you,
Mr. Sam Nitcy
