The Indian Education Committee consists of parents and guardians who have children in the school district, who are eligible for Johnson O’Malley (JOM).

JOM funding provides supplemental funds designed to address the unique and specialized educational needs of Indian students enrolled in public schools.

Examples of JOM spending here on the Flathead Reservation: Native identity murals in the school, starting a drum group, school supplies, back to school kick off event, cultural field trips, cultural literature for school libraries and classrooms.

This committee of parents holds the voting rights on how JOM monies are spent. If you are interested, contact Sara BigSam at 406-675-2700 ext:1072.
