About Us

Our History

Dayton School was built in 1910.  Our school is located on historic tribal lands, specifically within the traditional territories of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes. These Tribes historically occupied a large area encompassing much of western Montana including the region of and around Lake County, Montana.

UPPER WEST SHORE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT #33 was formed through consolidation of School Districts 24 (Proctor), 36 (Dayton), and 41 (Rollins), July 1, 1972.
