As a lifelong learner, I’ve engaged 38 years as an educator – 33 years as a teacher (K12 + adult), 5 years as a District Curriculum Director and 7 years as a Principal. During this time I’ve acquired a Dual Major Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and K-12 Art. I hold an Associates Degree in Commercial Art, a Masters of Science Degree in Instructional Technology, and Doctoral Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on School Improvement. Additional certifications include K-12 Principal, along with ELL Tesol and Tyrel certifications. I’ve served in six different districts in two states.
Simply stated, my passion is teaching and learning with a focus on positive productive meaningful evidenced-based student learning. I’ve embraced life in learning many areas, like becoming a private pilot along with winning equestrian and driving competitions. I even learned how to shoe my own horse. My contribution to Dayton School Students is imparting the desire to learn the tools needed to experience whatever life throws your way. That they may catch it if they choose and run with it for whatever time they choose. Why Dayton? Who said…To thine own self be true? (This phrase is one of the countless famous quotes coined by William Shakespeare. In Act 1, Scene III of the famous play, Hamlet, Polonius says: “This above all: to thine own self be true. And it must follow, as the night the day.)
Dayton School, students, teachers, and parents are fundamental in carrying out my life’s passion in helping our world take the next best step forward toward a productive meaningful life and to run with it! Saddle up and Tally Ho!
