Dayton School, with help from the West Shore Food Bank, is initiating a “Take-Home Lunch Program.” We are asking families if they would like to participate in the pilot program.

Here’s how it will work:

Families will receive simple and straightforward food ingredients each week to take home, prepare and then bring to school for lunch.

Students will receive Tupperware and will be supported taking care of supplies.

Students and families will help prepare the lunch meals per student at home.

The meals will be packed and sent to school with the students.

The program will give students a chance to learn about food, help their families, and build healthy habits.

An example lunch could include: Orange Chicken and Rice, Cowboy Nachos, Tuna Pinwheels, Salads, Fruits, etc.

We expect to continue the program through the summer and appreciate any feedback to better serve the community.

If your family is interested, please fill out this form or call the school office.
